Two years after service integration, Vodafone and Idea announced the launch of an integrated brand identity - Vi (pronounced 'we'). Accompanying the new brand is the tagline "Together for Tomorrow."
Ravinder Takkar, Vodafone Idea's managing director and the chief executive officer said, "Vodafone Idea came together two years ago as a merged entity. Since then we have focused on the integration of two large networks, our people and our processes. And today I am delighted to be presenting Vi, a brand that will bring significant meaning to our customers ' lives. Indians are optimistic and want to get ahead in life. They'd love a trustworthy partner to help them along this journey. Vi's positioning is built around this promise and will focus on satisfying the needs of the customer to help them grow.
Takkar introduced that Vi not only marks the completion of the world's largest telecommunications merger, but also kicks off a journey to bring "world-class digital experience" to 1 billion Indians on 4G. The deployment of many 5 G architecture principles has helped the brand become a "future-fit, digital network" for the clients.
The company has also uncovered a 'Happy Surprises' programme for spotting the new logo in the Vi app that rewards people with daily prizes. Mobile users can also create and download their own custom Vi Tune via the Vi app or MyVi.in.
